When the creative mood strikes me I tend to do multiple paintings in a short amount of time. It’s like I am in the “zone” and feel free and passionate about the process. I move from one painting to the next, letting one dry while I make changes to another. I enjoy acrylics for their forgiving nature and quick drying time. They allow me to paint with abandon, to create without fear or trepidation. I have been experimenting with using metal pieces to make my art more dimensional. It has been very rewarding to see common items in a different way, like a door knob plate as a wine bottle label or a faucet handle as a bicycle wheel. I am fortunate to have my own studio space (over our detached 4 car garage) in the beautiful outskirts of Woodland with lots of room to create and display.
